About The Writing Camp

The Writing Camp (TWC / The Camp) is a prolific and creative songwriting collective that has initiated an immense buzz with their infinite variety of soulful, and meticulously crafted songs for the music industry’s most popular chart topping artists. Since its formation in 2007, the team has been responsible for a series of successful songs released in pop, R&B and dance music, including 2010’s Grammy Award winning “Halo” by Beyoncé, the hugely popular song “SOS” by Rihanna in 2008, Sean Kingston’s “Take You There” as well as hit songs from Britney Spears, Leona Lewis, Adam Lambert, Hilary Duff, The Pussycat Dolls, Kristina Debarge and more. The Writing Camp is made up of Evan “Kidd” Bogart, Erika Nuri, David “DQ” Quiñones and Greg Ogan. As their unrivaled individual resumes testify, each member of the trio is a notable creator and together they unite as a dazzling force in songwriting. From pop aristocracy to multi-platinum producers, their collaborations define the sweeping parameters of modern music.

The Writing Camp also houses a music publishing company, music production house and music supervision company as well as works in film and television. TWC has penned many songs featured in hit shows such as MTV’s “The Hills” and “The City” and continues to amass a collection of songs included in today’s top tv shows and films. The Camp, along with Victoria Horn, recently joined with mega producer Rodney Jerkins to create “Right Here” (Departed), the lead single from Brandy’s full length Epic Records debut, Human.

The inspiration for The Writing Camp evolved from a week when a cross-section of songwriters, including founder Evan “Kidd Bogart” and David “DQ” Quiñones took to a Los Angeles studio to create in a relaxed environment. Afterwards, Bogart & Quiñones thought the process was a complete success. By getting together, not worrying and stressing about who wrote each specific word and bouncing around ideas in a fun atmosphere, the group was able to create something unique, extremely creative and special which ultimately led to The Writing Camp. Soon thereafter, New York based Erika Nuri joined the collective and a circle of collaborators had begun to form.

In their Hollywood studio, dubbed appropriately “The Campground”, The Writing Camp is equipped with laptops, guitars, keyboards and recording gear. The energy within the room is transferable as each member brings their own unique skill set and background to the songs they write. The writers are always considering the artist who will eventually sing a specific song being written. By doing this, the writers develop lyrics exclusively for that artist making it feel more personalized and in tune. Because the group members all come from different backgrounds, passions, expertise, love of music, eras and different parts of the world, members of The Writing Camp have separated themselves from the majority of other crews or writers found in the industry today. The Camp writes everything from pop/rock music to hooks for rappers, hits for American Idols to acoustic ballads, sultry R&B mid-tempo hits, and up-tempo dance songs.

With an upcoming release schedule of pop music's top artists and an ever-increasing list of illustrious campers/collaborators, The Writing Camp has been and continues to be influential in penning today’s top songs. More than simply amassing a huge catalog of cuts, TWC’s objective has always been to elevate the quality of the popular song with their lyrics and music.
